Kaminaki Restaurant - Bar - Ano Volimes

DESCRIPTION

Kaminaki traditional tavern opened in 1997.
In the kitchen there was the mother of the owner and still now, even if she doesn‘t cook anymore, she teaches the secrets of the Zakynthian recipes to the staff.
The "Kaminaki" name comes from the name of the area in Ano Volimes where was built the restaurant.
This area takes its name from the "Kaminaki" that are small furnaces, dates back at least 400 years, where household objects such as glasses, plates and cutlery, generally called Keramiches, were made.
During the excavations for the construction of the restaurant several artifacts came to light.
The restaurant has wooden ceilings and furniture made by the father of -Nionios- following the Venetian style in which he was an acknowledged specialist in the whole island.
Outside there are niches with columns of the manor house that dating back to 1700 and was destroyed by the earthquake of 1953.
The Kaminaki restaurant is a famous "Psistarià" that is a traditional tavern specializing in charcoal grilled.
Here you can find a truly exceptional kontosouvli (bacon or pork leg rolled up around a spit and stuffed with tomatoes, peppers and spices).
We recommend you also to try the chicken in tomato sauce (kotopoulo kokkinistò), the salads, the appetizers and the local cheeses.
The restaurant Kaminaki is also a cafe bar for a coffee in the afternoon or a drink after dinner.
